Can you trade off a spell for sonic?
I know that you can take protection from it, just want to know if it falls in this catagory?

I see why you would think that would be the case, but I am fairly certain that "to one of the other four energy types." is a mistake, and it just refers to acid, cold, electricity, or fire.

Sonic is way too good for that, and is not listed in the ability.
