Elementals need to rest?

A character has cast polymorph on himself and turned himself into an elemental. He plans on running full speed to a certain location to get there quickly. Our question is: normally, the character could only run for a limited number of rounds. However, it appears the elemental can run as long as it wishes, going on the fact that it doesn't need to eat, sleep, or REST.

What do you guys think?

The benefits granted by elemental body spells are limited only to those specified in the spell description (and I don't remember seeing 'immune to fatigue' on the list.) While a more complete transformation like some of the polymorph spells from the D&D days might have done it, the PF version only alters specific things - not so much for versimilitude as to prevent the game grinding to a halt every time somebody takes on a new form and has to recalculate a bunch of their stats.

It's a neat idea, but the rules as written don't support it. Polymorph acts as elemental body I when used to change yourself into an elemental. That spell doesn't actually grant you the elemental type, only the specific benefits listed... and immunity to fatigue isn't one of them.

I just checked the PRD entry for the elemental subtype and apparently elementals aren't immune to fatigue in the first place.

I haven't looked up the rules recently, but I seem to recall the rules for becoming fatigued were based on taking non-lethal damage from failed fortitude saves. Regeneration or fast healing might circumvent this If they have access to some way of gaining that ability. A low-level way of achieving the same effect would be a wand of mount, which you would use to produce a number of horses that you could ride until they collapse.

This is correct. Elementals don't sleep, but they still get fatigued, exhausted, etc.
