Can a cavalier / barbarian challenge, then rage?

Rules Questions

Liberty's Edge

I'm wondering if a cavalier/barbarian can challenge a target, then use rage and still get the benefit of the challenge. My first thought is no, given that under challenge you've got "Challenging a foe requires much of the cavalier’s concentration." and under rage you've got "While in rage, a barbarian cannot use...any ability that requires patience or concentration."

But, the cavalier challenge lasts "until the target is dead or unconscious or until the combat ends."

This could go three ways, I think:

A) When using challenge, then raging, the challenge goes away.

B) When using challenge, then raging, both take effect.

C) When using challenge, it's impossible to rage.

Thoughts?

I would say B since it's talking about your lack of ability to focus on other enemies not you needing to concentrate like on a spell.

That concentration(for the barbarian) thing is vague. I can't give a rules quote, but I would say the player would have to go with A.
If I go with C his rage is turned off completely. Choice A let him choose which class ability he wants to use.

I'm pretty sure RAI the whole "Challenging a foe requires much of the cavalier's concentration" thing is just to define why he takes a -2 to AC against other foes. Stacking that with the -2 AC the barbarian takes and the fact that he'll most likely be flanked by any other enemies while attacking the target of his challenge makes him a pretty easy target. I'd say that you can use both at the same time.

If you rule otherwise, it would have to be that the character simply gains no benefit from the challenge while raging, as having a challenge active would in no way prevent a rage, only vice versa.
