I am not sure if this is in the right area or not. I had a question about Kitsune and their human forms. In the Dragon Empire Gazette it says that they get one human form that does not change. How is that form decided? Is it based on the humans that they see? Is it totally random? Would it be possible to have a Kitsune from Tian with a human form that looks like Ulfen? Or would all Kitsunes look like Tian humans?

So, could it be possible to have an Azlanti Kitsune?
I suppose so... but that kitsune would have to either be a time traveller or something REALLY unusual, since there's not enough Azlantis alive today to be considered a predominant ethnicity anywhere.
And no... that wouldn't mean that the kitsune's ability scores are any different!

That form is decided the same way that anyone's appearance is decided—it's the human form the kitsune is born with. As a general rule, the ethnicity of the kitsune's human form matches the predominant ethnicity in the region in which he or she is born.
Oooo, thanks for that clarification, I was actually wondering about this. This might affect some things for my Kitsune character.
So, in theory, if you had a Kitsune couple (posing as humans) who had Tian forms and relocated to say... Cheliax, their kids would have human forms that looked Cheliaxian? That could cause some awkward questions if they were trying to blend in as humans, haha.

If you wanted to tell a cool story with that element, then yes.
I would, barring any outside influence, probalby say that it takes a generation for a kitsune's apparent ethnicity to "transform."

Yea, I might be telling a 'cool story' with this ;)
Ah, so if a Kitsune moves into an area, then his human form will slowly change to match the area? Hmm, I guess he would have to move around a bit if he wanted to keep himself from drawing attention over the years.
Hah, I have to wonder what would happen if a Kitsune moved into an area with no humans what-so-ever. I guess they would just keep their current ethnicity.

Nope; a kitsune's human form is locked in once he's born, no matter how often he moves around. It's his children (or, as I prefer, his grandchildren) whose human forms adapt to match the region's predominant ethnicity.
A kitsune who moved into a region with no humans would indeed have their descendants retain the ancestral ethnicity.

Ahhh, I was wondering if I was misinterpreting what you meant. Cool, I think this will work pretty well for the character background that I want to put together. Thanks for the help!
