Questions about Double Chicken Saber

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Silver Crusade

I have a couple of questions about the Double Chicken Saber in Ultimate Combat

1) if i make a monk in PFS, can the monk use the Double Chicken Saber? if it is a monk weapon, does my character have to spend an exotic weapon proficiency to use it?

2) oh what does a Double Chicken Saber look like?

Thanks

1. The monk does not get any proficiencies for free that are not specified by the core class or an archetype; that means you need to spend the feat to use the weapon. But, once you have it, since it is a monk weapon, you can flurry it.

2. Sample

1)No, only a Paladin. Not a Monk weapon.
2)Nuggets.

Much more important question: Why doesn't it use actual double chickens?

Silver Crusade

Lore Keeper, thank you, for the link and the answer.

So if i understand things correctly...a monk weapon, does not actually mean that a monk can handle the weapon: specifically, it does not mean the monk is proficient with the use of the weapon; iIt just means a monk can employ the weapon in conjunction with his flurry of blows?

Thanks

You're absolutely correct; "monk" weapon only specifies whether the weapon is flurry-able, and doesn't normally have any bearing on proficiency with the weapon.

Good gaming :)
