Challenge for the optimizers.

Advice

This build popped into my head but I didn't find a way to make it really viable and gave up. So I challenge those smarter than me to do so instead :)

Combine the Skirnir Magus archetype, a divine caster who spontaneously casts inflict spells, and possibly the holy vindicator prestige class (for even more shield synergy) into an inflict-spellstriking-twf-shieldbashing butt kicker.

Go.

The start of the problem is your way to mad with this. You can do it as a magus but over all. When you add in Divine Caster and TWF. You need to many good stats unless you roll really well and not using a point buy.

Now after reading the archetype. It looks worse for you not better. The key part to spellstrik is the threat range of the weapon. So you start out lower then the avg. magus.

To me it seems the whole point of spellstrike is to perform it with high crit range weapons. I don't really see the point of spellstriking with a shield, because you'd need to take feats to get good with your shield and you can't really do that with such low levels in all the classes listed.

It is more less to actually make this optimal, however, you can get part of the way there pretty easily if all you want is the skirnir magus and inflict spells. Super genius games' magus product has the Jinxed spellcasting magus arcana which allows you to add witch spells to your magus list and an archetype the cabalist that makes the magus spontaneous casting. So you can put inflict spells on your list and then cast them spontaneously all in the magus itself.

Ok, well, you need at least Skirnir 8 so you can get Spell Combat. Without that, your attacks per round will be essentially limited to 1, unless you have a multi-charge spell of some kind. You also are probably going to have to "Captain America" it with a Spiked Shield, because you need a free hand to cast until level 8, and even then, you'd lose your Shield's AC bonus if you do. I also highly recommend Armor spikes for an off-hand attack, since you'll need TWF to take Shield bash anyway.

As for the Divine part of this, you easily go Cleric or Oracle. It doesn't matter--both will require another casting stat that you don't need as a Magus.

If you choose Oracle, I'd go Magus 8/Oracle 4/Mystic Theurge 8.

If you choose Cleric, you could do Magus 8/Cleric 1/Holy Vindicator 3-10/Mystic Theurge 1-8.

I would never call this character powerful, it would barely function before level 8, the schtick of using Inflicts through a Shield wouldn't work until level 9, and wouldn't really work well...ever, since Inflict spells suck (they allow a save for half! Touch spells should never allow saves for half).

If you're willing to accept some alternative options, you can just use the regular Magus and get a shield with no Arcane Spell Failure. Doesn't Mithril or Darkwood drop the failure chance? You'll still Captain America it, but you can stop Magus at 6th level (when you get the arcane to channel other class's spells).

Then, if I were you, I'd keep going Magus and use the superior Arcane spells to shield bash with. The most important and powerful feature a Magus has is Spell Recall (and, obviously, improved Spell Recall). Oh, and generally, Shocking Grasp will deal more damage than just about any inflict spell. Just take Magical Lineage for Shocking Grasp, then intensify when you're past level 5. It only costs 1 arcana point to recall up to 10d6 damage (and likely a +3 to hit).

There are lots of nasty touch spells out there, though. Frostbite, Calcific Touch, etc. I'd stick to a single classed vanilla Magus.
