Can one empower a quickened spell

Rules Questions

Can a quickened spell from say combat healing be empowered with a metamagic rod?

Metamagic works only on spells and not spell like abilities. Since you have to cast a spell to use the revelation you can empower it with a rod as well.

But there are feats that let you quicken spell-like abilities. They're just not usually worth taking for PCs.

In any event, you certainly can empower a quickened spell; it would just have to be memorized (or cast for a spontaneous caster) at level+6 (+4 for quicken and +2 for empower).

Or you could cast a quickened spell using a empower metamagic rod, or an empowered spell using a quicken metamegic rod.
