I have to start by saying how much I love the Beginners Box. The presentation is fantastic and I am finding it absolutely spot on for introducing the next generation of gamers. Despite having played Pathfinder since it came out and 3.5 before it, the simplicity of the BB is truly beautiful.
I have run Black Fang halfway through twice (with two separate groups although my 7 year old was in both and I am going to have to work on teaching him not to metagame!) both times there were the standard 4 characters.
I have been GMing for a few years but apart from the 1 on 1 compendium, have not got my head around running for smaller groups in standard adventures.
My son is really into the idea of games with just me and him but I am not sure what to do, he had rolled up a pretty decent fighter and I thought I could back him up with a GMPC cleric but where to go with it? I would really like to start a campaign with him but how do I go about it?

Well run the campaign like you would for a normal gruop of four, but only for an encouter level of one. If your son's at 1st lvl go with a cr 1, or two 1/3 so on. If pathfinder has a lvl to cr chart go by that. If not use dnd chart in the 3.5 DMG. You relyy can't go wrong and treasure to your son's lvl. Once you get use to it the easier it gets.

Thanks guys, I think Serpent's Skull looks great to run, just curious from anyone who's played it, are there any MAIN themes which may be inappropriate age wise, I can 'censor' any situational stuff but without revealing spoilers is there anything I should particularly watch out for? My son is 7.
I am preparing for S.S. and have read all the installments. There are no MAIN themes that should concern you and really not much situational stuff either. S.S. doesn't seem to get as much love as other AP's but I think it is well done and is a nice sorta "classic" campaign arc. Great 1st campaign for a young'n. However, in the 1st book there are 2 back to back potential TPK's for even a four person optimized group. You will definitely need to nerf some encounters.
anyway, keep it up and glad to here there are other dads out there introducing the new generation to gaming. Have fun!
