No wonder I've always felt so underpowered... I don't think I'm adding the right things to my weapon damage rolls...
could somebody tell me what I add exactly? Is a +1 longsword different from a masterwork longsword? How?
So what do I add if I wield a longsword? Greatsword? Longbow? Composite Shortbow?

Melee weapons add strength to damage.
Thrown weapons add strength to damage.
Crossbows add nothing to damage.
Composite Longbows add strength to damage if they've been created to do so. [eg - You get a strength rating on the bow, the downside of that is that you have a penalty to use a bow that's stronger than you are]
Without a feat, nothing adds dex to damage.

What feat adds DEX to damage? I'm aware of Weapon Finesse, which adds DEX to hit and I'm aware of the Agile magic weapon special ability which lets you add DEX to weapon damage rolls. I'm also aware of one or two class abilities that let you do that but I'm not aware of a feat that lets you add DEX to damage.
I may have overlooked it, can you cite it?

3 ways to add dex to damage, none of these are available in the BB

Pathfinder Society Field Guide.
Do note that for the Spiked Chain/Elven Curve Blade/Whip you still only get x1 dex modifier despite two handing it and when you TWF with an agile weapon in your offhand you get x.5 dex modifier on your offhand
