Too add a familiar, or not: a healer's dilemma.

Advice

Silver Crusade

So, I've decided on an Oracle of Life build. My question is this: is it worth it to grab a level in Wizard or Witch to grab a familiar to deliver my touch-heals? Do heals even count for what a familiar can deliver?

Original thread is Here.

No. Yes.

Instead go with eldritch heritage to get the familiar off of the arcane bloodline.

Bingo, Eldritch Heritage is the way to go. Make sure to grab Improved Familiar at level 7 to get the Agathion, Silvanshee. It is super fast with 90ft flight (good), has Lay on Hands as a paladin, and can give you your Cha Bonus to saves for 10 minutes, and can talk with anything to aid with translation.

Its the perfect familiar for an Oracle.

Note that the Silvanshee's Lay on Hands will be only once per day once the errata goes out. Well, that's my assumption after SKR said it was way too good in its current form.

I wouldn't rule it that way myself but if that is what they do with the errata, then that is what they do.

Personally I think it's stupid since it then creates havoc with the other Agathion, unless they do some really fancy wording on the Silvanshee.

Also the Silvanshee's entry is in error. According to the Agathion subtype the lay on hands is like that of a paladin's -- which means he should have 1 use from hit dice and 1 use from his charisma modifier (which stands up with what the other Agathion have).

I've mentioned this before but I don't think anyone noticed at the time.

Hmm. Awesome idea, but I'd have to give up 3 outta 4 feats to do that. I'll have to think about it. Awesome familiar, or better channeling?
