13th level rat folk alchemist vs. a demi-lich...
Mol, the 13th level rat folk alchemist, stumbles upon the lair of a demilich while doing a solo delve of an ancient tomb!
Thanks to his headband of intellect +6 (knowledge religion is one of the skills it provides), mol with his keen alchemists perception score recognizes that it’s a demilich. Thus, Mol is able to prepare himself with the elixers: spell resistance (SR 25), death ward, haste, targeted bomb admixture, greater invisibility, non-detection (DC 28 for the demilich’s true seeing), greater false life, reduce person, true strike. Also he uses a dexterity increasing mutagen.
Mol, now has a 28 dexterity and 28 intelligence. He has the rapid bomb discovery, along with point blank attack, and chucks a volley of the typical alchemist fire bombs at the demilich. At 13th level, he gets a +9 BAB +9 dex +1 point blank shot, +2 size (reduced to tiny). He gets +19/+19/+19/+14 attacks, His first attack, to which he adds +20 for true strike, almost certainly hits. We justly assume his next other 2 ranged touch attacks, which are at +19 vs. the flat footed demilich, hit has well. The last one is at +14 touch vs. the flat footed demilich, and so probably hits also. Damage per attack is 24.5 base + 18 (intelligence + targeted bomb admixture) +1 (point blank attack) for 43.5 points of supernatural fire damage per attack. That is a total of 174 points of damage. The most probable outcome is that the demilich is toast.
And even in the unlikely event that one of Mol’s attacks were to miss, consider:
1) The demilich has a 35 percent chance not to be able to see Mol
2) The demilich, if it uses a spell, has a 20 percent change not be to able to overcome Mol’s spell resistance.
3) The demilich, can’t energy drain Mol, or use wail of the banshee, due to death ward.
The safe bet is one the rat folk alchemist who is 1 CR lower than the demilich.
Demiliche vs. giant rat. Giant rat wins!

Mmmm, smiting pounce.
You seemed to have missed the smiting part, which means they will be subtracting nothing from their damage rolls.

Oh yeah. True! Both cats and mice make mince meat of the demilich!

You'll need a restore corpse before you mince any meat.

Was thinking the exact same thing.
It is tough in the sense that it can kill people if given half a chance. But really at its own CR people are already taking it apart at round 1.
I think the real trick will not be showing me characters that can do it at level 13. But showing me characters that can do it at level ten when the Demilich is a viable boss monster.

It would be viable when the demilich doesn't pretty much auto-kill an unprepared party.
Getting caught off-guard should be bad, but there is a very real chance that groups out there will be TPK'd in the surprise round against this thing.

You can say that about any monster in the book (except the ones above CR 20 or below CR 1/2, naturally).

I was mostly referring to the original character, not the Master Summoner. Although I don't think I've ever seen a Master Summoner with enough ranks in K:Religion to reliably identify a demilich (DC 29 unless the DM is quite generous or demiliches are way too common in the campaign world).

Smite Evil from summoned pussies is not the same as paladin smite.
Also I think we should apply the young template to the demi-lich and apply a monk (martial artist) to rock it's wisdom score and a knowledge religion check won't help if you can not find it stealthing among the treasure pile, +37 steath or so..
The demi-lich has double treasure, I think it should wear a fancy headband of wisdom/charisma to go with it.
