Got mine today and put it in my Christmas card display. Then called in my 8-year-old daughter, she of the Beginner Box and heroes minis and pink sparkly dice, and asked her "Do you recognize any of these people?"
*delighted gasp* "That's Merisiel! And ... and the wizard! What was his name again? Ezren! And who's that? Kyra! And ... and ... I remember ... Valeros! That is so cool! Who sent you that? Give them twenty dollars! No, give them forty dollars!"

Not 100% true. All subscribers do get a holiday card. But we also send out cards to other folks based on a top secret formula created by Gary. The only way to guarantee yourself a card is to subscribe, but you could get a card anyways if your name gets spit out by Gary's formula.

By looking at it, my first thought was Ezran was gramps who was earlier dressed as Santa. Valeros is dad, Kyra is mom and Merisiel the kid. All enjoying their holiday between adventures. A family that adventure's together stays together... assuming one or more of them isn't eaten by a monster of course. :)

No way, dude--look at his hair, and that expression. He's the 18-year-old brother who's really into Slayer, and probably needs to spend less time working on his old car and more time studying if he wants to get into a decent school...

I got one last year without being a subscriber, but I've moved since then and can't figure out how to change my address..
Just got mine. My guess is that Ezren just cast a spell called "Yuletide Splendor."
I also think Merisiel appreciates how well a bulky sweater conceals knives.

It was noted by my gaming group that Kyra looks like the only one truly enjoying herself in the picture and that the others were simply going along with this because "You always want to make the cleric happy."
