Psionics Unleashed: Metamorphosis?

I was looking through PU and really liked the Egoist Psion, especially the Metamorphosis powers. I'm looking for advice on an Elan Egoist build in a game (level 5, 18/18/17/17/16/16 stats). What powers would help, what are good buffs to hand out to other PCs at higher levels, menu builds for the various metamorphosis powers, ect.

PS I suffer no delusions and understand that an Egoist can't fill in for a tank, but I'd still like to survive if I get cornered.

That aside, put your stats should probably go something like:
18s = INT and (CON or DEX, depending on your style)

17s = (CON or DEX - whichever isn't 18) and anything else you want

16s = fill in the gaps

.... EDIT: you should probably put your other 17 into WIS to maximize your survivability (and saves); I'm presuming that's what you want, based off your wording? 17 and 16 isn't that big a difference, but at much higher levels, a +5 from reality revision or wish can get you an extra +1 to your saves, so that's where I'm coming from with that. ....

Really, with those stats, even soloing you should be doing okay in terms of not dying.

I'm also curious on what you're looking for. The powers are really super-specific, and advice heavily depends on your ultimate goal.

You seem to be looking to be a buffer more than a tank, yes? Or would you rather be on the front lines? Some combination of both? Do you just want suggestions of metamorphosis-type powers, or are you looking more for over-all power suggestions and synergies?

Yeah, those stats were assigned to everyone by the GM, simply stating "you're going to need them". (I asked him if he would allow RAGELANCEPOUNCE if this character died, he said okay without hesitation, even after I threw all the numbers at him. So I may start a new thread later on titled "OH GOD HELP!")
Well I guess I'd like him to gish/tank until later levels, since he won't be able to do most of his party buffing until 8 or 14 depending on the PrC (I was thinking about Metamind with overchannel so that he can squeeze as many buffs out as possible or squeeze as much as he can from the elan's supernatural abilities). The metamorphosis powers have a LOT of options to choose from, especially when you include augmentations, and I was looking for pre-made choices that I could pull out for various situations so I don't have to stop game-play while I make choices and do all the math, as well as powers that could synergize with those choices.

Edit: keep in mind I can pass out metamorphosed forms to other party members.

Some of the best uses of metamorphosis are the fast healing.
I apologize to you, it may in fact be my fault for them making Fission an exception to that Egoist ability, because it would HOLY CRAP break the game. But it woulda been fun.
