So I'm playing a Universalist Human Wizard for a new campaign. I wanted to focus on crafting magical items since Pathfinder removed the XP costs of making things.
I was looking at the required spells for several items and I can see some are used more than others.
Has anyone compiled a list of the most needed spells to have for crafting? I would like to know what ones to focus on taking when I can. I intend on being a generally utilitarian member of the group, so there is no focus on being a damage monkey.
If anyone has some tips for building a magic item craftsman, please share them!

Okay. Well, I'm level 1 at the moment and was considering taking the human favored class alternate once it matters (1 extra spell per level, 1 spell level under your highest or less). That way I can just pick them up as we go along. Should I just take the skill point instead?
Oh, also I picked the Hedge Magician Trait, so I get a discount on item crafting, is that worth it, or should I have taken something else?

the spell is useless. if you want to pick these spells up as a wizard it will cost you a small amount of gold. over time this may add up but it is definitely worth getting the hp or the skill(my personal preference)
Okay. I was thinking about it, and I realize that ability is really more useful for sorcerers... :/

the spell is useless
You also need to know your GM. If they are wizard phobic they might make new spells nearly impossible to acquire, this is not theory, I have played in these types of games and if you look around the boards enough you will find others either playing in or running these types, in such situations where spells are incredibly hard to come by it is often worth giving up the extra hp...just know what you are getting into.
