Hmm... is it just me, or is the 9th level spell Mass Heal lacking its counterpart, Mass Harm in the rulebooks?

Anyone who can think of a reason for this?

Look up what these spells do: heal, harm, mass heal, and meteor swarm. Oh, and wail of the banshee too. A mass version of the harm spell would do more damage than WotB or MS, Will save for 1/2 to each target. Without adjustment for traits, feats, or gear clerics would have the most powerful damage-dealing spell in the game. But clerics aren't supposed to have the best damage-dealing spells by design, so the counterpart spell to mass heal-mass harm-doesn't exist.

Also, the general design rule for a mass spell is to boost the original spell up 4 levels. Mass heal is an exception to that rule. Mass harm would be 10th level if we follow that guideline.

You could probably do something akin to mass harm if it only hurt a limited set of creature types.

After all, mass heal wreaks havoc on undead in addition to being an awesome healing spell -- pretty freaking powerful, but still limited at least in the kind of creatures it hurts.
