Maximo grunts in pain from the vicious bite. Retreating a step, he turns his back to the monster to keep from accidentally meeting its gaze and drops his greatsword in order to draw his wand and wave it over the wound.
"Keep fighting, my friends! Like the stories of Great Repseus, who fought the terrible basilisk... but wait! That is what this creature must be! Aha! Now that I know its secret we can save our stoney companions! Subdue the creature, and try not to kill it, for with its blood we can restore them."
Maintain bardic performance for courage (everyone is +1 hit/damage). Take a 5 foot step. Drop greatsword. Retrieve and use wand of cure light wounds.

Prompting helps! Thanks!
Happy Stone closes his eyes under his furry warm veil and stabs in the direction of the beast.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 to hit; No cover? Just have to use piercing?
1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 damage.
1d100 ⇒ 98 high is good
Chun Hei

Chun Hei will once again bite at where the creature is attacking the bars.
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 91
Ripping off a piece of flesh
"Vivf if goiving vell"
before spitting it out.

James, mutters while loading the black powder into his pistol.
"Chun, I'm not sure about the social graces of your country or even Varisia for that matter, but it is very impolite to speak with your mouth full in Taldor"
James Younger

1d20+5; You also realize it's a juvenile basilisk. You know they eat the statues they create. You also know that the range for their gaze is limited. If you stand outside point-blank range, you're generally safe.
Where ever I feel generally safe, if I can move to my 2nd range increment and still we the lizard I will do that and burn a grit point to resolve vs touch. Eyes open .

"I thhink it'ss loosse, be careful"
| GM Chris Mortika |
James, you back up all the way to the bottom of the stairwell you came down. If the creature moved towards you at all, he'll still be within point-blank shot.
You open your eyes, and he's standing there, bloody, just beyond point-blank distance. As you squeeze the trigger, a third shot rings out, echoing throughout the corridors and beyond.
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17; that's a hit.
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7 points; which is enough to drop it.

With all the adrenaline in his body exiting his body via word of mouth, James begins speaking quickly and with confidence.
Good news, and bad news guys. Good news is the little lizard is dead, bad news is he turned three of our companions into stone, and I have only one bullet left. We need to get these statues covered in blood quickly, Sad Rock can you begin coating Lady Shel since she is so small and requires the least amount of blood. Maximo, Chun and I will stand guard, no doubt in my mind whomever else is here knows we are here as well by this point
With that James loads his last normal bullet into his gun.
maybe Badr can lend me a bullet or two if we turn him back to flesh.
How many statues can we convert back to flesh?
| GM Chris Mortika |
The lifeblood of a basilisk can resoften skin, rekindle fire in the eyes, and restore movement to the limbs of those who have met the eyes of the fell beast, but the blood must be warm and fresh, and no all who are so anointed regain their lives.
It is possible that all the petrified PCs might be restored, or only one or two. What's the priority order? In other words, who's going first (with the best chance to revive) and who's going last (with the worst chance)?

Happy Stone slowly peeks out from under his fuzzy hat, one eye at first, then slowly bringing out his other eye, trying to avoid looking at the beast.
After confirming that the beast is down, Happy Stone will look at James Younger, then to the dagger in his hands, and then to the beast, then back to James Younger.
"You want blood bath?" Happy asks confusedly, looking at Shel.
Presuming Shel goes first, Happy will give Shel a bloodbath.
Never give blood bath before...maybe this usual Asphid Continuum work.

This might be questionable, but what is the possibility of bleeding the basilisk of blood but keeping it alive (bound and blind-folded) with the use of cure spells? I'm thinking we might be able to get enough blood this way for everyone.
Chun Hei
|
Chun Hei will slowly peek open her eyes, before helping Sad Rock turn his hat around.
"Good idea to start with the smallest, just make sure the beast suffers"
Maximo Interresante
|
Cracking one eye open to look around, Maximo spots the basilisk, gives a sigh of relief. "Close one that. We should move quickly before it expire... Oh, too late I see. Well, let us see what we can do."
Shel first, then reassess based on her condition and the amount of remaining blood.
James Younger

James pulls out a coin " Heads Badr, tails Kilian." And tosses the coin into the air.
1-50 heads, 51-100 tails
1d100 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17
Looking at the result, James quips "The coin has spoken."
Shel Whispertongue PFS
|
"What happened? I don't remember much. I was getting ready to open the door...," Shel shook her head, trying to get her wits about her.
Maximo Interresante
|
"Hmm." Maximo grunts as he squeezes the last drops from the Basilisk. "Let us hope that whoever was insane enough to keep this monster caged has a way to reverse an accidental exposure. Could be they have some behind this cage." Maximo peers through the bars, looking to see what is beyond.
Shel Whispertongue PFS
|
As Shel begins to realize what had happened, she felt badly. Thanks for bringing me back. I owe all of you. We have to figure a way to get Killian back as well. And does anyone have a way to get some of this blood off me now?"
Chun Hei
|
I think the cage is open now, since the basilisk got out.
Chun Hei will remove the Basilisk's paws and put them in her backpack.
"Yesss, let us sseach the cage."
Shel Whispertongue PFS
|
While still clearly shaken, Shel nods at the suggestion, and gets back to her role, looking around the cage.
I thought James was joking, but she took the paws. For snacks, maybe? Strange.

Badr knells in front of Kilian after his return to flesh and prays quietly.
I am sorry my companion that the Lady of Fate sought my return to flesh above yours... may that I remember this and act in gratitude to you and Her
He stands and faces the group.
I thank both you and my Goddess for my life - you have my gratitude
Whats it cost for a stone to flesh casting?
