Hello, I'm trying to put together a Crusader Cleric for a game in a couple of hours and I ran into this question, hopefully someone can answer it for me.
In the list of feats the Crusader has to choose from at 1st level is Weapon Focus. But clerics have a BAB of 0 at 1st level. It is stated that "A crusader need not meet the normal class- or level-based prerequisites for these bonus feats.", but does this make the feat available at 1st level or not?

Typically, if something gives you a specific bonus feat (as opposed to the human racial bonus feat, or fighter bonus feats), it's usually fair game. For instance, the Half-Elf alternate racial trait called "Ancestral Arms" can give you Exotic Weapon Proficiency despite the fact that most classes won't grant you that first-level point of BAB.
Double-check with your GM, though.

No, as it specifically states "Class or Level based." The requirement on Weapon Focus is "BaB+1," which is neither a class nor a level. The reason it gets the asterisk is because it must be applied to the crusader's god's chosen weapon.
So it would have to be taken at 5th level, then.
Thanks, much appreciated both of you!
