PFS character build help Archivist vs. Archaeologist

I am looking to build a new character for PFS. I am looking to create a "True Pathfinder" as I envision it. Someone who can go out on their own and full explore a ruin themselves if needed.

I came down to Archivist vs Archaeologist to fit the bill. They both gain rogue-like abilities that will be of great use. I havn't completely decided on a race either so that is rather open for suggestion as well.

Are you being serious? I had not even thought about a ninja filling the role. One reason I went with a bard subtype was some access to spells. May I ask, what does the gnome ninja offer for this build?

More skillpoints, more hitpoints, and (if Vanish is taken) ability to go invisible as a swift action without talking (casting).
