This has come up in a game i play in.
Does cavalier share its mounted combat feats with its mount?
the cavalier in our game has ride-by-attack and is ridding a Axe beak that get has the sudden charge ability(which gives it a bite attack on a charge& then a free trip attempt without provoking AoO.).
would the axe beak benefit from the ride-by-attack feat of his Cavalier?, and thus be able to attack & trip on a ride by?

Thanks the guy playing the Cavalier is under the impression that mounted combat feats are shared between rider and mount ...he kept pointing to the mounted combat rules but none of us could find what made him think this.
As a suggestion, when a player is claiming a benefit that others don't see, it should be up to him to be more specific about defending his position. In other words, he should point to the rule that says what he claims, or spell out the logic chain that leads him to his conclusion. That said, the mounted combat rules are notoriously poor. You may want to check out the mounted combat portion of the 3.5 Rules of the Game articles; there is a link in my profile.

Thanks for the links...and after looking through them ...I think I'm going to have to send them to our DM....as last game he allowed the Cavalier to perform a Coup de Grace while charging a prone foe.
They will also help me out a ton a that player is planning on playing the same type of character in my upcoming Jade Regent game.

silly question, i am just learning the game still but i was wondering about team work feats. Would that be possible for both the player and the mount have a teamwork feat . And again excuse my noobness :D
Yes, however the mount must be of at least INT 3 to learn teamwork feats. And unless you're a druid/cavalier/someone who gets a AC, it's not gonna happen.

Speaking of cavaliers, a cavalier gets a free teamwork feat and can use his Tactician ability to grant it temporarily to his mount. I've often thought there should be plenty of good ways to use this, though I haven't looked into it.

No the cavalier and his mount do not share feats.
However! They can synergy with one another by using their own feats. A cavalier on top his mount can charge an opponent and use something like ride-by-attack. At the same time his mount can use an appropriate feat if it has one that allows it to do something during a charge.
