OK, so I just checked my Subscriptions page and things are not looking good. November is just two books, that's fine, but I'm paying $12.41 in shipping for those two books. Ouch. $6+ per book? Then I see nothing for December, at all. OK, weird, but I can deal with it.

Then we get to January. Nine releases. NINE. I can... at least on one level understand, due to shipping delays and customs and all of the other garbage that goes on to get the books to us cheaper, I can deal with that. The $160 total for that month is mean, ugly, almost enough to push me to my breaking point. I want Bestiary 3, so I will just shut up and pay even that. But the thing that is really seriously ticking me off is this: Why on EARTH am I paying only $3.50 more in shipping to ship NINE books than I am to ship 2? That's just nuts.

I know all the reasons behind the shipping; I've read enough of the threads to know the details on UPS vs. USPS, and I've had too many problems with untraceable orders to ever trust the USPS for shipping again. It just really ticks me off and it makes me more and more likely to drop all my print subs in favor of PDF only.

Is there ANY chance of things being released in December to take some of the edge off that absurd January order, or is it all pretty much in the hands of the literal slow boats from China?

In the realm of "things I know will never happen but oh would it be nice", let me ask for a "bill me now so I get the PDFs, then just ship the books later in bulk to save us all money on shipping" option to be added. Maybe quarterly shipping or something.

I am not seeing the Same thing you are...

November I am seeing this Based on your Subscriptions... Not mine since I will see more..

November

Adventure Path - Pathfinder Adventure Path #52: Forest of Spirits (Jade Regent 4 of 6)
Roleplaying Game - None
Campaign Setting - Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Book of the Damned—Volume 3: Horsemen of the Apocalypse
Companion - None
Modules - None

So November we are seeing the same, though I am getting a lot more since I have more subscription and I also added other stuff on top of that. I am paying Estimated $8.80 in USPS shipping to Texas with about 7 items 6 of them books, 1 being the Beginner Box minis.

December is where we see the difference.. You see none, while I see this.

Adventure Path - Pathfinder Adventure Path #53: Tide of Honor (Jade Regent 5 of 6)
Roleplaying Game - Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Bestiary 3 (OGL) Hardcover
Campaign Setting - Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Dragon Empires Gazetteer
Companion - Pathfinder Player Companion: Dragon Empires Primer
Modules - Pathfinder Module: The Ruby Phoenix Tournament

So I see all your subscriptions coming out in December, on top of that I am getting Item Cards and have an estimated shipping from USPS of $9.63 to Texas.

For January I see the following

Adventure Path - Pathfinder Adventure Path #54: The Empty Throne (Jade Regent 6 of 6)
Roleplaying Game - None
Campaign Setting - Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Mythical Monsters Revisited & Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Jade Regent Poster Map Folio
Companion - None
Modules - Pathfinder Module: The Midnight Mirror

On top of that I am getting a flip mat and cards and have an estimated shipping from USPS of $7.83 to Texas.

Now almost always you will see UPS charging more, though it east easier to Track I have had a different experience then you of getting my stuff from Paizo through USPS, they have never lost 1 shipment, though I did have a few problems during the Magazine era.

There may be a bug in the system somewhere. I'm also seeing a null month with no December shipping in my subscriptions. All the December releases are shown as being combined with my January shipment.

I am also showing as all my subscriptions in January and none in December.

I think that it's a glitch in the system.

I think that December should be something like this:

1x Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Bestiary 3 (OGL) Hardcover
1x Pathfinder Player Companion: Dragon Empires Primer (PFRPG)
1x Pathfinder Module: The Ruby Phoenix Tournament (PFRPG)
1x Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Dragon Empires Gazetteer (PFRPG)
1x Pathfinder Adventure Path #53: Tide of Honor (Jade Regent 5 of 6) (PFRPG)

And the Pathfinders Battles - Heros and Monsters.

I think it is definately a glitch for some of us as their product schedule hasn't changed.

All January and no December here as well.

All January and no December for me, but in my case it actually saves me money in shipping costs, so it is fine!

This is definitely a display issue: There will be a december shipment. I'm looking itno this now and will have it corrected as soon as possible.

This should now display correctly.

While you're at it… I have the "Never hold anything" option selected and I see "GameMastery Map Pack: Palace Print Edition" shipping on its own mid-December (after the Heroes & Monsters subscription, but before the official Paizo stuff for December).

(My understanding is that "Never hold anything" should single out the Heroes & Monsters products, and leave all Paizo books together. I think that's what Vic Wertz wrote some time ago.)

This should also be corrected. (Sorry for not letting you know earlier.)

That's less stupid now, thanks. Still wish there was some option with package tracking that wasn't 12 dollars and change for just 2 books. :(

Sadly, the USPS just doesn't offer tracking for anything but Express Mail. However, we *are* investigating another option on that front. Stay tuned!

That's interesting. My friend that works for USPS sorting all kinds of packages and says they've recently (about a month ago) started scanning EVERY package that comes through for tracking. So I'd definitely be checking about tracking via USPS more. :-D

Their website still indicates that point-to-point tracking only applies to Express Mail, and there are no news articles I can find saying that's changing. (That's where they usually announce things like service changes.)

(I'm also suspicious because most USPS packages still aren't even required to have unique barcodes.)

Can someone help me? I am posting this for my son who is fighting for our country overseas, but I'm pretty clueless when it comes to these games and gaming boards, what I need to know is why they have postponed the release date for Jade regent vol 5 and 6? If any one can help I would very much appreciate and answer! Thank You

Pathfinder Adventure Path #53: Tide of Honor (Jade Regent 5 of 6) was originally delayed from December to January. We then had some adverse weather conditions when we went to start shipping this volume and many orders are still being packed and shipped out. We hope to be caught up with shipping by Friday.

So does that mean it will ship before July because that's what Amazon and Barnes and Noble have it listed as being ready to ship.

The distributor Amazon (and many other book retailers like B&N) buys from is Diamond.

Diamond releases new items on Tuesday. Paizo releases new items on Wednesday.

So, Diamond will release their new Paizo items the Tuesday after Paizo releases them. Which means that Amazon won't have them on release day.

A few days before release date, Amazon's algorithms will say, "Huh, we don't have this book that's releasing on Wednesday in stock. Let's push the release date back a month."

So Amazon says that the product isn't available and is releasing a month (sometimes several months) later.

Usually the next week, their system shows that the book is now available from Diamond and the dates get brought back in line.

Hello, could you help me again? My son is wanting this information:

I want to know if there are any rumors of Epic Level Rules for Pathfinder, and I want to know if there is any hope that Paizo will put out an Epic Level Adventure Path, Perhaps an extension to one of the normal ones published.

We have not announced any plans for epic-level content.

Zero content statements of the world unite!! :-)

"They have not announced any plans for epic-level content."

Nor have they stated they have no plans, or that they have plans but just haven't announced them yet, or that they have actually started but just haven't let us know. Because even that (a simple announcement that they do have plans) would create a firestorm of discussion, never mind any statements more concrete than that :)

P.S. Sounds like another vote for "Part 7 of 6" to me!
