I noticed that if you're using a two handed weapon, you get 1.5 times your strength bonus on damage. I thought I saw somewhere that you also get 1.5 times the strength bonus for your hit roll, but I can't seem to find that in the book now. Is that in the core rules somewhere, or am I remembering wrong, and the 1.5x bonus only applies to damage?
The 1.5 times bonus is to damage only. Your attack bonus just gets your straight Strength modifier.
It's not a stupid question; there are so many rules in 3.5/Pathfinder that, sometimes, it's hard to keep track of everything! :)
Ok, thanks. I just returned to playing RPGs for the first time since playing 1st edition back in the 80's, and I'm learning 4th edition and Pathfinder at the same time, so it may be tough for me to keep all the rules straight at first and remember all the details.
I, too, started with 1E AD&D, back in the day (<--old fogey, ripe ol' age of 36!); I've played every edition since, though. One of the guys in my tabletop group did the same as you, went from 80s AD&D straight to 4E and PF.
