Or, rather, my friend's 9th-level summoner's eidolon's damage output?
It is a large quadruped eidolon with 28 Strength, a bite (x1.5 Str damage), 2 claws, and a tail slap attack. It has the Improved Natural Attack (claws) feat and the Improved Damage (bite & tail slap) evolutions.
What does its attack line supposed to look like?

It looks like it should be:
+16 Bite [2d6+13]
+16 2 Claws [d8+9]
+14 Tail Slap [2d6+4] (only -2 to hit, since eidolons get multiattack at 9th)
That's +7 BAB and +9 STR. You stated 1.5 STR for their bite attack, it'd be STR for primary attacks, and .5 STR for the secondary attack (slap). Damage dice is based on the size/improved damage or imp. nat. att. feat added in.

The Improved Damage evolution doesn't seem to improved damage by one size (like Improved Natural Attack does), but instead it improves the die by one type (d4 > d6 > d8 > d10 > d12 as opposed to 1d4 > 1d6 1d8 > 2d6 > 3d6 > 4d6 > 6d6 > 8d6 > 12d6). Therefore wouldn't the attack line look as follows?
Bite +15 (1d10+13), 2 claws +15 (2d6+9), tail slap +13 (1d10+4)

While it does say "damage die type" having it scale on a different list could end up with problems of which comes first.
For instance, you gain a level and give your Eidolon the Large evolution, Bite evolution, and Improved Damage (Bite) evolution.
Imp Damage first changes his medium 1d6 to 1d8, which should become 2d6 when large.
Size first, 1d6 becomes 1d8, then Imp Damage becoming 2d8.
Having them all follow the Improved Natural Attack list keeps things consistent.
Unless... does size always go first? At the end of the size text, it says "The ability increase evolution costs twice as much (4 evolution points) when adding to the Strength or Constitution scores of a Large or Huge eidolon." Which wouldn't make sense unless the size happened first. I think the intent was to just increase the damage by one step, like size, but size and INA and stuff has never really matched. So, unless it's for PFS, just wing it? Bleh.
