Newbie Question: Caster Level check for Scrolls?

Rules Questions

Lantern Lodge

When using a scroll for a spell in your spell list that is higher level then your caster level, you need to make a Caster level check of (DC = scroll's caster level + 1).

How do you make the check?

Do you roll a D20 + your current Caster level?
Or
Do you roll a D20 + the ability modifier you use to cast the spell? (Int, Wis.. etc)

Sorry for this newbie question. Thank you.

A caster level check is D20+ your caster level.
