Okay, so here's the deal. I'm working on a little something at the moment, for a personal project that may or may not go anywhere. Presently, it's at the "mental excercise" phase of it's memetic lifespan.
The project: write up a list of every "fantasy character class" ever.
The challenge: I'm going to post what I've got, and you're going to tell me what I've missed.
(By the way, I know "fighter" doesn't appear on the list below... I couldn't justify having a class called "warrior" and a class called "fighter", so I went with warrior.)
Before you add, here are my "rules":
1.) I'm looking for what would be considered "base classes". That means simple, one-word class names that depict a fantasy trope. For example: Warrior, Thief, Ranger, Priest, Wizard. I am not looking for "Arcane Bloodknight" or "Servitor of the Obsidian Spires".
2.) I'm looking for fantasy tropes (a touch of "steampunk" is acceptable, however). Not sci-fi, or any other flavor.
3.) Lastly, I'm looking for simple, appealing names for dramatic fantasy archtypes, not "Baker" or "Gravedigger". That said, if you can think of a profession or trade which might have some real power or influence in a fantasy setting (like "Noble" or "Merchant") or that could be tough and adventure-ready or dungeon-savvy(such as "Blacksmith" or "Miner"), then by all means chip it in.

Herbalist and Charlatan are pretty good. I didn't use "Doctor" because it sounded a little modern. I opted for "Healer" as a "low-magic" or "non-magical" healing class title.
Knight is covered on the original list, and I didn't use "Mage" for the same reason that I didn't use "Fighter." So far, though:

Could also use Chirurgeon if you want a more exotic-looking name. I've always been partial to it as a non-magical healing profession in game.
Soldier, Centurion, Musketeer, Guardian, Theurge, Hermit, Acrobat, Athlete, Marathonner, Courier, Guttersnipe, Constable, Soothsayer, and Pathfinder.
