When my third character died in Carrion Crown, I had had enough. I love spellcasters. It's not like I hate Warrior or Expert types, I just love the options spellcasters get. However, my GM is actually normally the group's power-gamer (I use this descriptor as a bad thing, instead of optimizer), and doesn't like getting repeatedly hexed, and that is what I do; I make hexers. So, bad guys would run from the other side of the battle field just to get one hit off. Sure, they would provoke all the way over to me. Sure, it was bad from a tactical point of view. But, when all the baddies mob me, I break out in this awful rash I like to call 'My own brains' and they don't make a topical cream for that! One of the players suggested inquisitor, but I know next to nothing about this class.
So I turn to the evil minds of my fellows out on the internet! Please, I like carrion crown, but I hate this DM! My favorite DM runs Kingmaker next, so, I want to get through Carrion Crown as fast as possible! Help me break this inquisitor. Your limits:
20 point buy.
Any Paizo pathfinder book (actually, it can be pre-pathfinder, but must be post-dragon/dungeon).
Must be ranged, no guns (I was thinking Longbow)
Worships Desna.
Must be human, half-elf or elf.
8th level.
Must have the trait Dangerously Curious. (The fellow players really wanted me to keep using my Wand of Glitterdust and wand of Acid Arrow. Not sold on using the Acid Arrow wand, it is low on charges, but glitterdust? My last character made nothing but Glitterdust wands. DC:15, and it is the only spell I know of that can blind mindless undead!)
Only 20K Gold to spend. Can apply the 30% alignment discount.

I played an Inquisitor in society to level 5 befor I quit society. Inquisitor's strength I think lies in versatility. For ranged I used the Heavy Repeating Crossbow. Remember you can fire a crossbow prone without penalty per 195 core book. Against multipul archers this can be key giving them the -4 to hit you.
Some spells I like
Sift-great orison
Ear Piercing Scream-d6 to single target + dazed not bad
Flames of the Faithful-this + judgement is death to naughty things
Teamwork feats- I like manuvers so the coordinated manuvers was good, but outflank is probably what you want for that +d6 damage.
In UC they have a good feat for a versatile ranged/melee called Opening Volley. +4 circumstance to next melee against oppenet you shot might be a good starter. Or you might just get pointblank-precise shot initially.
To bad you have to worship Desna, the domains/inquisitions are poor for that god. Out of those choices I would choose luck, travel or liberation domains. The Spellkiller Inquisition from UC might not be a bad choice if he/she allows it.
