Announcing exciting updates to Shadow Lodge 2011!
We're giving you more of what you've asked for!
With several sessions booked out or oversubscribed over the last week, we have made some changes to the schedule to open up more opportunities to play the most popular scenarios.
Among other changes, we have created a second stream of the popular Feast of Ravenmoor three-part special and created two new special sessions called "Player's Choice". Here, with your fellow players, you'll be able to negotiate with the GM ahead of time or on the day itself to play any scenario from any of the Seasons of Organised Play! So if you haven't yet registered, make sure you sign up straight away at our Warhorn site here in case these new seats fill up fast too!
So, with two weeks to go, 19 of the 30 sessions are now running (an increase of 7 tables from last week) with:
- 1 session booked out,
- 4 sessions with 1 seat left,
- 5 sessions with 2 seats left, and
- 9 sessions with 3 seats left.
Of the 11 sessions still to reach minimum numbers:
- 6 sessions need only 1 more player,
- 3 sessions need 2 more players, and
- 2 sessions need 3 players.
The price per session is only $2 but if you've already paid to play Pathfinder at Sydcon that day and would prefer to play at Shadow Lodge instead and they won't give you a refund, then you play at Shadow Lodge for free! We're only a 15 minute walk away. Don't forget to change your registrations!
Sessions run from 10am-3pm and from 3pm-8pm each day, with food and drink served right to your table. And once the games are over, we'll be retiring to the bar for drinks and dinner so stick around to socialise with your fellow players and GMs. It's all set to be a great weekend!

If you are signed up and have paid for Pathfinder at Sydcon, it is still being run. However, if you would prefer to play at Shadow Lodge, Sydcon will, as has always been our policy, give you a refund.

Awesome, with a short walk between the two venues we can get fit too and see the sun!

More exciting updates to Shadow Lodge 2011!
With even more sessions booked out or oversubscribed over the last week, we have made some more changes to the schedule to give you more of what you've asked for, including three more "Player's Choice" sessions.
With one week left to go, 27 of the 30 sessions are now running (an increase of 8 tables from last week) with:

- 4 sessions with 1 seat left,

- 3 sessions with 3 seats left.
Of the 3 sessions still to reach minimum numbers, all of which are on the Monday:
- 1 session needs only 1 more player, and
- 2 sessions need 3 players.
Session Times
We've also had some requests to try to aim for an earlier finish time in some sessions so that players can catch trains, planes and automobiles, and so we've talked to the fantastic guys at the Roxbury and they've offered to open up the place to us an hour earlier! So, whenever you can, turn up from 9am for morning sessions, and 2pm for afternoon sessions, and as soon as all players registered for a table are present, it'll start. See you at the Shadow Lodge!

Our inaugural Shadow Lodge convention was a massive success! We had 40 players filling 145 seats over 31 sessions, making Shadow Lodge 2011 the largest ever Pathfinder event in Sydney, and the largest in Australia this year. Not a bad start!
A big thank you to our fantastic hosts, the Roxbury, who provided their room free of charge in the hope we’d do a bit of eating and drinking there. Needless to say, we did indeed do a fair bit of eating and drinking, and the Roxbury is as happy with the results as we are and would love to have us back for the next time! If you’d like to thank them directly, you can do so on their Facebook page here. Go give ‘em a big Liking.
Thanks also to Brian and Finn who provide Warhorn, the gamer event management service, for free. $40 has been donated from Shadow Lodge session fees representing $1 per attendee. If you’d like to show your appreciation directly, their Facebook page is here and you can make an individual donation here.
Thanks to Eliza from Good Games and Matt from Games Paradise who supported Shadow Lodge with some promotion and donations of Pathfinder products. Please support them back by buying lots of Pathfinder goodies!
Now, onto our GMs:
- Richard Adamson (RizzotheRat)
- Brad Kirkwood (BradKirkwood)
- Adam Mansell (average_zombie)
- Neil Mansell (NeilMansell)
- Ajay Meeraiya (Ajay)
- David Metcalfe (_metz_)
- Seb Mullins (lastblacknight)
- Luke Parry (Luke_Parry)
- Andrew Patterson (Patto)
- Ben Smyth (BenSmyth), and
- Tris Sullivan (mongrall)
Awesome work, guys. It couldn’t have happened without you. Thanks for all your hard work and your willingness to stand up in-front of strangers to tell them fairy stories while pretending to be a host of imaginary characters all weekend. You rock. Thanks also to Rich, in particular, for securing the Roxbury in very short order!
Finally, I’d like to thank every one who came along to play. This will be the first of many Shadow Lodge events and so I hope you’ll continue to give us your support and participation as we continue to help build the Australian Pathfinder community.
The next convention we'll be at is PaizoConOz 2011 which starts in just over a week up in Brisbane. The next Sydney convention is MacquarieCon, on 9-11 December. We’ve been asked to organise Pathfinder, and so expect another great line-up of games, including what will likely be Sydney’s first public sessions of the Season 3 multi-table special, Blood Under Absalom, and acclaimed module The Harrowing.
In the meantime, you can get your fix in the current monthly Pathfinder events:
- Good Games in the City
- Good Games at Burwood
- Grey Matter Games/Unlimited Hobbies at Blacktown
- Blacktown Games Day.
So, once again, thanks for coming and for your support. We’re in the process of building a website that will link to all the events we organise and I’ll let you all know when it’s up and running. We also have a facebook page so please Like it, and use it to give us feedback, ask questions and make requests for what you’d like us to run for you. We’re here to facilitate your Pathfinder addiction!

I heard a rumour that the people who GMed at Shadow Lodge were told that they would have to pay for the sessions that they GMed if they had been GMing at Sydcon. I hope this is just a rumour, because it is completely false. Sydcon and Eyecon have never, and will never, expect people to pay for sessions that they GM. We fully realise that gaming cons cannot run without the efforts of the people who run the adventures we all enjoy playing, and we would never ask them to pay as well.
I just wanted to clear that up - if you hear that rumour, you can assure people that it isn't true.
Other than that, I am happy to hear the Shadow Lodge ran well, and was a success for all involved.

No Tony, we weren't told that. I'm happy to give my perspective on the Shadow Lodge / Sydcon schism if the SRGA is interested, either publicly or privately.

Let's keep that info to private emails please. This has a chance to start a flame war which I do not want on the PFS forums. Thanks :)
