I sometimes find myself wondering if my post was one of the ones deleted when Ross mentions it. Or worse, I come back a day later and feel like I made a post, but can no longer find it. Makes me wonder if it was deleted without notice. I'm not sure if anything can be done about this, or even that something should be done. I'm not asking to add to the moderation workload with notifications or the like, just putting the observation out there.

Remembering the meanings of tattoos is especially hard if your hobbies are drinking and visiting tattoo parlors. What exactly does this panda riding a unicorn mean? I think it means the Rosicrucians are after my Lucky Charms!
As for removed posts, we do email the poster for certain types of removals. If a post contains a bunch of good stuff and one comment that's over the line, we'll remove it and email the text of the original post so it can be reposted with the offending material excised. If we are cleaning up a big mess, where people are quoting a post that is destined for removal, we probably won't do the whole email thing because it's kind of a pain. If we're removing your post and giving you a timeout from the boards we will definitely email you.
The most reliable way to know if one of your posts has been removed is to not post crap that you know is over the line, and if you see someone posting crap that is over the line, flag it and don't bother replying since replies to removed posts also get removed.
