Strength Bonus question

Rules Questions

When Im using a 2 handed weapon how do I apply 1 1/2 x character strength bonus to damage rolls? Could someone explain this please?

Just multiply your normal bonus by 1.5 and round down- for example: Str 16 would add +4 instead of +3, str 18 would add +6 instead of +4.

If your strength has a score of 15 (for example) the modifier is +2, so (2 x 1 1/2 = 3) with the result that your damage bonus becomes +3 instead of +2.

With a strength of 20 the mod is +5 and the bonus (5 x 1 1/2 = 7)

Ahh, thanks a million.

No problem- happy to help. :)

sorry to bring up this old thread, but I do have a question on how this may apply. I have a fighter with dervish dance (and a scimitar) I have a +2 bonus on Str and a +4 bonus on Dex. Dervish dance lets me use my dex for both my hit and damage modifiers, if I were to use my scimitar two handed (I was inform you can do this with a scimitar as it is not a light weapon) would I use 1 1/2 times my dex as that is what the dervish dance feat lets me do or do I only get to use my str for a +3 damage bonus only?

If I use my Dex (since it is what I use for damage anyway) I would net a +6 damage if I decide to use two hands.

any help would be appreciated.

Dervish Dance specifically mentions that you use your Dexterity modifier to attack and damage rolls when you are wielding it with one hand. If you decide to attack using two hands, your feat doesn't apply.

That is too bad :-(
