Hello everyone. A friend of mine is running a very dark, undead heavy, ravenloft style of game in the next week or two. Now I dusted off my Soul Calibur 4 game and started messing around with character looks hoping something would click. While I got the look I wanted; I have no idea with what class(es) to make him. We are starting off at level 10.

So I'm seeing a scythe and heavy armour, is that right? Not familiar with Soul Caliber. What's this Character like? backstory? fighting style? magic etc.?
A picture is not much to go on, but I'd say: High STR fighter or maybe a Paladin with an angel of death theme.
Edit: Alright, I'll look up some screenshots for him and get an idea of play style then I'll get something to you as soon as I can. I'm kinda interested in the paladin death angel idea.
What's point buy?

Alright, so before adding bonuses from the ability scores, this is what I've come up with. If I knew point buy, I'd be better able to make these decisions. It looks very defensive so far, but I'd like to change that.
Feats: power attack (-3/+6), channel smite, improved critical, vital strike, weapon focus, shield of swings,
Skills: diplomacy +13, knowledge (religion) +13, sense motive, +13,
armor check -4
Equipment: scythe, breastplate, amulet of natural armor +5, headband of mental prowess (CHA+2), 9782GP
Divine Bond 2/day (+2 bonus)
Lay on Hands 5+CHA , channel positive energy,
Mercy: fatigued, remove disease, frightened
So far stats are: BAB 10/5, immune to disease, charm, fear, scythe +11 (2d4 19-20 x4) power attack +8 (2d4+6 19-20x4)

Looks like 6 Fighter 4 Barbarian to me.
This gets you a lot mechanically. Weapon Training 1 (Heavy Blades) with Gloves of Dueling for +2 to that (total +3 hit/damage), sufficient feats to beat face, Rage, Fast Movement, Armor Training 1 (which gives you full speed in medium armor, meaning you will have the full 40 ft in Breastplate without Mithril), and a couple Rage Powers.
The design certainly looks straight up facebeatings. You can totally run with that.

With a ten level start you could nab Holy Vindicator levels. I think you might like that in an undead and evil type game. From a cleric only start you can go Cleric7/HV3 and keep martial proficiency from HV. Only problem i see is vindicator's shield might be a waste for you. Though you can swap cleric levels for fighter levels, even letting you prestige faster.
