Futuristic Librarian Paradise!
For crazy futuristic robotic librarians anyhow. Just think of how many human librarians are out of work due to this thing !!

I think one of the commenters on the article had it right. The main thing this will do is change the jobs of students doing work study. Rather than stocking shelves, they'll be stocking bins.
Personally, I always like lurking in the stacks. The article is spot on about finding good books while you're looking for the one that's supposed to be there.

As one of those teacher's brats who managed to get whole hours of the day devoted to blow-off-stuff like 'Library Aid' or 'Office Aid,' I oppose the idea of soulless automatons stealing these shirking opportunities from shiftless surly uncooperative students who are more interesting in gabbing with their friends in the stacks than helping library visitors!
Hasn't anybody seen Terminator?
First they came for the librarians, but I was not a librarian, so I said nothing...
Wolverines!!!

Yeah, I think people underestimate the value of walking the isles and just grabbing a book that jumps out at you. If you have exactly what you ask for delivered how can you ever notice the awesome related book next to it you didn't realize you wanted?

I hope that sculptor doesn't accidentally get his or her hands on a rare first edition. Wouldn't that be embarrassing.
