hello,
I was wondering what is the cost to enchant an item so that it can be used to cast a spell x times per day? i.e. like a 3rd level spell 3 times per day.
Also, are there any limits on it?
Thanks!
Quick Answer per Wondrous Item Creation: (1800 x spell level x caster level) * (charges per day / 5).
So in your example, 5400 gp per charge/day, minimum.
Those are the Base prices of the items; crafting them is half the cost if you do it yourself.
The limits are what your GM will allow (as unlimited use of certain spells is more valuable than a lot of core items), as custom item creation rules are optional and entirely at GM discretion.

Yes, if it is comparable to another item (e.g., mage armor vs bracers of armor), I make it the same or more expensive. This is because I'm assuming that the magic items listed are the more 'common' ones and their researchers weren't idiots. If there were a cheaper way to easily achieve the same effect, they'd have most likely used it. Therefore if you find a cheaper way, it must not have worked quite that cheaply for some reason ;-) Call it the efficient magic market hypothesis.

Krispy gives you the basic outline. Remember to vette EVERYTHING players do, if you're the GM, because some of that stuff is broke.
A sword that turns invisible as you swing it to make people flat-footed (ala Rogue Blades from a previous edition) is NOT priced as a 'use activated item'. Compare what is being made to anything else on the market, and pretty much always err on the side of charging them more money.
