Hey all,
I am playing in a game where I am by far the most experienced character. We are level 11, and we have an Wizard / Eldritch Knight, a Paladin, and a Summoner. I am currently playing the trapmonkey and skillmonkey but we are really starting to hurt for Restorations (the Paladin and healing potions have been covering for healing well enough).
We're only a few sessions in and the GM has been trying to cover as best she can with convenient healers and potion treasure troves, but she has also indicated that she would like someone to switch characters to make up the slack.
Neither the Paladin or the Summoner is interested in changing and we need the Wizard, so I was thinking of doing it... but the GM is pretty trap-happy....
Long story short, any suggestions on a healer / trapfinder that could be reasonably fun to play despite his dual role duty? A Metal Oracle at least has 4 skills / level and Disable Device - anything better? Any good Prestige Classes maybe?
I have 11 levels, 25 attribute points, and level 10 wealth. I usually play Half Orcs with Scent, if that matters.

More points in favor of the alchemist - if you dipped rogue, then took the vivisectionist and chirurgeon archetypes, you could get trap-finding, use your cure extracts without needing to take the infusion ability, and get full sneak attack progression. Also, since it only takes a minute to prepare extracts, you have a bit of flexibility regarding cure spells (not as much as a cleric, of course, but hey, it's something).
That's the best approach I can think of. It's hard to think of another approach that will get you more than 2+Int skills/level for most of your levels. 1 level of Trapper Ranger, then Hedge Witch, maybe? Your Int for that build would net you a few more skill points/level.

@KaeYoss - Not sure if 2 skills / lvl can get it done...
But it's 2+.
The "+" meaning intelligence, favoured class and racial bonuses.
If the character's a human with a mere 12 int with cleric as his favoured class and getting skill points out of it, you get 5 skill points.
Perception, Disable Device, Knowledge (Religion) and Spellcraft. There, trapfinding priest.

Maybe see if Priest is allowed:

It's basically a cleric that swaps combat ability (d6 HD, low BAB, simple weapons, light armour) for skills (6+) and spells.
A level of rogue will give you lots of class skills and a few extra weapons. 2nd level gives you a rogue talent:
~Canny Observer gives +4 Perception when searching for things, inc traps
~Trap Spotter allows a roll to spot traps just by being near them.
