Gestalt Builds (Now with UC!)

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Good gravy, another one?!

Anywho, it's no secret that this forum is the haven of many a min/max-er. With the advent of Ultimate Combat, new potential is out there for amazingly awesome gestalt builds! ...and beyond the crunchiness, there's more interesting concepts for flavor.

Come up with you own! I'll open it up with a few that come to mind.

Master of Many Styles/Brawler Fighter (Give or take a few archetypes) - The Master of Many Styles, being deprived of Flurry of Blows, could really use the extra BAB. Also, the build will take as many feats as it can get, so good synergy there, too.

Master of Many Styles/Cleric or Inquisitor - Eh, minor thing, but I just thought I'd bring up how the War Domain has gotten cooler with so many more combat feats to choose from. Pick up a new style each fight! (Elemental Styles for specific battles?)

Ninja/Synthesist Summoner - A charismatic ninja that envelops himself in an ethereal creature. ...sound familiar? >.<

Not strictly UC, but...

Synthesist//Paladin--You can put 100% of your point buy and resources into Charisma and still have an absolute combat monster. Your saves are ridiculous, your spells have great DCs and you have lots of them, and your physical stats are off the charts. As a bonus, you can make your Eidolon look like an angel.

Cavalier (or Samurai)//Inquisitor--Any-alignment Paladin, with lots of neat tricks, good saves, full BAB, medium spellcasting, and an animal companion.

Flowing Monk//Aquatic Sorcerer--Take Sorcerous Strike and you have a Waterbender from Avatar (the good one, not the movies).

I would go with:
ranger - vivisectionist (+beastmorph)
full bab, and you get self-buffs, sneak like a rogue, and you can pounce, rake, grab and constrict later on. Plus he's got a flanking buddy.

not as amazing as the synthesist/paladin.

pistolero - vivisectionist (+beastmorph)
pretty much the same as above + vestigal arms to reload and ranged.
notice that pounce overrides the "single melee attack" to a "full round attack", no mention of melee.

this is just a little more broken than the simple pistolero.

Not sure if anyone has considered it, but you can make archers even worse by gestalting a fighter/monk using the Zen Archer archtype. You basically get a guy with good saves, perfect BAB both in melee and shooting, Strength and Dexterity focused, with flurry of blows with your bow, a lot of free archery feats, a number of cool other feats, some ki-abilities, and then get the benefits of full weapon training and specialization, gloves of dueling, the ability to make his arrows inflict unarmed strike damage, and just generally be everything that an archery based fighter is only better. You can even get a +6 to hit and damage with your unarmed strikes as your secondary weapon training (counting gloves of dueling).

I know it's not UC, but it's something that crossed my mind while reading this thread. :P

Well any sort of fighter/monk gestalt is starting to look more attractive these days, in part due to UC. So many awesome feats to choose from; not enough feats to get them all. ...so combine the two most feat heavy classes... Yar.

Oh, and this thread isn't restricted to UC stuff. It's just that UC is bound to inspire more ideas so that was the thought that I had when making this thread. :/

I actually really like the Synthesist//Paladin. It's great in so many ways.

If you want it to be, it can be an utter beatstick against evil, pretty much perfectly optimized for that task. A Huge Eidolon with Full BAB and Smite Evil combined with ridonkulous saves and tremendous hit points is pretty much the definition of a nightmare to anything Evil.

However, if you're playing in a lower-power campaign or with people who aren't into total combat optimization, you can easily swap in Paladin archetypes like Holy Tactician and Warrior of the Holy Light to de-power yourself and empower your allies. You can also back off the combat monster evolutions for the Eidolon; for example, stick to Large or even Medium instead of going to Huge, and use manufactured weapons exclusively instead of going for 7 natural attacks.

Summoner, too, makes a good party-helper, as they get a lot of good buff spells, and with the high Charisma a Synth/Pal has, you'll be able to hand them out to everyone who needs them. You could focus mostly on casting, using the Eidolon mainly as protection, taking Skilled, Damage Reduction, Energy Resistance, and so on for your evolutions instead of damaging ones.

And, to cap it all off, the flavor is totally compatible. It's not a cheese monkey build. It totally makes sense for a truly powerful (ie gestalt) Paladin to be able to summon a divine servant of the Gods to possess and empower his physical form. They already get the ability to do that to their mount or weapon; this is just an extension of their existing flavor.

played that one already and yes he gets really nasty and he was a half elf

with a perception around 20 at lv 3. he was dex and wis based with 18 in both and a 16 for str.

right now i am working on a goblin alc/rogue that has a crossbow and the discovery that lets you put bombs on the bolts. just think of all the poisonings and the sneak attack bombs

My idea for an archer: Fighter with Archer archetype and rogue with Sniper archetype. Totally APG, sorry. But you got the feats, the skill points, the BAB and the Sneak Atack and between Accuracy and Hawkeye your range goes from 'far' to 'as far as the eye can see', with sneak attacing from like 100 feet away. Put a little resources on stealth and you're set.
