I know that an Eidolon cannot be summoned if you use the Summon Monster class feature. What about just casting the spell Summon Monster outside of using the class feature?
What I mean is, what if I use a scroll, a staff, or just use up one of the daily spells allotted to me instead?
You can have an eidolon out at the same time that you have cast summon monster as a spell, regardless of the source (scroll, staff, spells per day, etc.). You can also have multiple summon monster spells up at once. Or a summon monster spell, a summon monster SLA, and no eidolon.
However, remember that when you are casting summon monster as a spell rather than a spell-like ability, it takes a full-round action and they only last 1 round per level rather than a standard action and 1 minute per level.

Summoner SLA
I agree with Bascaria, Either Eidolon or 1 Minute / Level Summoned Monster (From the SLA)
AND Monsters summoned by spells using the normal time limits of the spells.
If the Summoner is using the SLA to summon creatures then the summoner can use the Summon Eidolon spell and get the benefit of Augment Summoning Feat for the Eidolon.
