Ninja vs. Rogue for "Jedi" character

Advice

Sovereign Court

My wife is working on a new PFS character and she really likes the Ninja.

However, there is no "Extra Ninja Trick" feat and she wants more than the six tricks she would get over the course of her PFS character's career.

You can go Rogue and with the Extra Rogue Talent feat be able to get more Ninja tricks that way.

The major conflict she's having is that the Ki that she can get with Rogue is diminished over what the Ninja's can do, plus a lot of the Ninja tricks are still Charisma based in terms of DC saves and the like. She's starting to get into MAD territory if that's the case.

Any suggestions on navigating through this?

hmmm here's a mind bender for you. If she takes a rogue talent with a ninja trick (say maybe my new favorite, underhanded), she fulfills the rogue talent prereq for the feat, right? She also has a ki pool, so she fulfills the prereq for taking ninja tricks with rogue talents.

viola! ninja tricks for the price of a feat.

Edit- ah, minor semantic problem. The extra rogue talent feat requires "rogue talent class feature". So having the talent itself is not quite the same as having "the feature". Still, they are almost 99% interchangeable. Perhaps there could be a pathfinder society FAQ on whether Extra Rogue Talent ca be used with ninja tricks?

MAD is not such a terrible thing, especially with a 20 pt buy. Brass tacks is that you pretty much have to decide among the limits of the choices you have. In her case I'd stay ninja and make hard decisions on what tricks she wants to have. and perhaps take a feat to boost the Ki Pool. I really wouldn't worry on boosting charisma too high for saves as the strengths really rely on the damage you can do and the aspects in which saves aren't a factor.
