So I have recently become fascinated with witches, mainly due to the limitless support possibilitys of it, more debuffs than buffs. I have rolled one up (actually rolled :) ) with the following stats.
Str - 12
Dex - 15 +1 level 4
Con - 15 +1 level 8
Int - 18 +2 Human
Wis - 14
Cha - 8
Assuming my DM continues ignoring the leadership feat and I only have access to Core + Advanced books I need another feat. So far the list looks like...
(1) improved initiative (Human bonus feat)
(1)
(3) Extra Hex: Misfortune
(5) Scribe Scroll (+Ring of Sustanance = Free spells per day)
(6) (Bonus from Hex) Brew Potion (See above)
(7) Extra Hex: Flight
Hex Choices by level
1 - Hex: Evil eye
2 - Hex: Cackle
3 - Hex: Misfortune (Via feat)
4 - Hex: Fortune
6 - Hex: Cauldron
7 - Hex: Flight (Via feat)
8 - Hex: Slumber
So far thats what I have. I am aiming towards debuff/buffing but I can't think up a good feat for that other first level feat. I suppose none of them are really level specific, so it could be an any level feat.
Any advise? Thanks in advance.
Oh yeah, Starting at 8th level, not building my way up to either level. Back up character in case my DM kills all of us.

Feats I would suggest are combat casting, eschew materials, extend/heighten/silent/still/quicken (later!) spell, toughness, arcane strike, combat expertise. Combat casting would be my first choice :-)

I would not recommend Combat Casting, because the witch should not be a frontline combatant. In addition, you don't need to make concentration checks to use hexes.
In this case, you could easily take Improved Familiar at 7th, or Toughness. Feats like Arcane Strike, Combat Expertise, and Combat Casting are all expecting you to get into melee. Never get into melee, if you can avoid it.
My recommendations:
Toughness
Improved Familiar
Spell Focus
Spell Penetration

In general that is true, so combat casting is not strictly a necessity. However, in the games I play in or DM, you cannot always choose whether you will be in melee or not - the opponents might just realize that the big armored fighter in the front is maybe less important than that nasty spellcaster in the back and directly move to disable him/her. Also, the hexes are nice and mighty, but I still perceive the witch primarily as a spellcaster, so I would take the feat.
Toughness, Improved Familiar, Spell Focus and Spell Penetration are good recommendations btw, I would second them.

Loads hexes
get flight early as it excellent at all levels
my witch is 6th and going for impr familiar next (there is an awesome fey type with 20 cha in UM if you are the right alignment). Each round your familiar should be UMD with a wand (ill omen esp)OR give it a haste scroll. Im choosing ooze mephit cos stinking cloud is 4 star

I would drop the Cauldron Hex for Ward, sub an Extra Hex down to the level 1 slot and grab Improved Familiar on the top end. Wand-wielders or particularly survivable familiars are good. Small Earth Elemental is a solid choice as it can meld with earth whenever combat starts.
Edit: UM Witch Updates in PRD
Also, the PRD is a resource you could certainly use/print if you need to. The Scar hex was recently upgraded in the FAQ to give practical infinite range to your hexes on Scar-affected targets. This makes Cackle...shall we say...bomb diggity when combined with Fortune, since you no longer even have to move to keep Cackle up.
Edit the 2nd: UM Feats
You should look at those, too. If you're more debuffy than buffy, Accursed Hex is a must, IMO.

Chaning your Hex / Feat line up when you get what. Cauldron Hex and Scribe Scroll are good at low level. After level 5 they are not nearly as useful. Geting flight, and slumber early on is a very good idea. If slumber works there is no need to debuff them. Flight is a very good mobility tool.
Feats
H: Improved Initiative
1: Exta Hex: Slumber
3: Accursed Hex (UM)
5: Exta Hex Flight
7: Improved Familiar
9: Intensified Spell
11: Split Hex (UM)
Hex
1: Evil Eye
2: Cackle
4: Misfortune
6: Fortune
8: Tongues
10: Hag’s Eye ( People disagree with me on this one. You can take somthing else. What I like about it is you can split the time up as needed. One casting of arcane eye is not nearly as effective, becous you have to use it all at one time.)
12: Retribution
