Since Monk/Duelist allows very high AC builds, it's an easy trap for those who overestimate AC. The best defense is offense. (oh and you're probably quite MAD - I assume that you are a melee which means you need EVERY stat except CHA high in this build - just go for an ironclad board fighter if you want AC)(if you really want defense, get Mirror Image - give that fighter UMD for instance)

also itll be at least 8th level before you can even get into the class (this is going 1 level monk 6 levels full BAB class) or level 9 if your a full monk
Well, I was actually thinking of taking one level of Monk and then the Kensai Magus archetype. Which has the Duelist's Canny Defense.

I don't know what those acronyms mean.

Yeah so how did you plan on keeping up your AC?? I posted this build a few days ago and didnt get alot of feedback on keeping the AC up so I was wondering if you had an idea?? Do you lose anything for wearing light armor with this build as long as you manage to pick up a proficiency with it???

You wear magic items like other people.
AC = 10 + Ref Bonus + Int Bonus + Wis Bonus + Bracers of Armor + Ring of Protection + Amulet of Natural Armor + Defender Weapon = Some huge number

I cant believe I ever forgot about bracers of armor and I actually never thought of Defending so kudos to you for that one...also if you really cared about spending 18k for 2 more AC you can invest in monks robe and dusty rose ioun stone plus you can use that Stunning Fist one more time per day =D

If you're completely OCD about it also, you also have feats like Dodge and Two-weapon Defense. A character I made that does this uses a rapier with a sharpened combat scabbard in his offhand. The scabbard is a Defender.

I took Dodge as Monk feat and forgot to even add it to the AC jeez and I have always loved the concept of using the scabbard as a weapon itself, just can never get approval to actually do it from a GM

It's in the Pathfinder Companion: Adventurer's Armory if you have access to it.
Same stats as a Rapier except its Slashing instead of Piercing.
Not that it matters since I only really use it for the AC it gives me.
