I think in the spirit of the luchador this system is the best possible way to play a traveling fighting luchador,
I even have a feat or 2 that I like that I had home brewed. before Ultimate combat was released
What do other people think? My thoughts are that there has always been players who, like combat like this for role playing reasons.
My feat is this:
7. Peoples champion: you are the paragon of wrestling might and the people love you and you love the people if more than 50 people (elves dwarfs ect...)are watching you grapple a foe one on one you get a +1 automatic circumstance bonus to cmb and cmd for the purpose of the grapple. This bonus goes up exponentially every 100 people who are watching you. Prerequisites: improved grapple greater grapple,

I absolutely adore this idea.
This would be a very, very fun convention game idea to have like the GOlarion World Wrestling federation or something.
Just a silly way to blow off steam at a convention.
i could also see it as an ongoing 'minigame' running alongside an ongoing campaign or a campaign in of itsself. There's a lot of cool ideas for martial performer stories, from Gladiators to Actors, and all sorts of different ideas!
Flesh it out a bit, you're onto some very cool game ideas here!

its not me it one of the new systems in the ultimate combat. book but i like that idea having a player having wrestling/combat fights between exploring ruins.

I think the Performance Combat Rules are great and are full of potential for awesome. The idea of adding a Game Mechanic that measure's an audience's reaction to combat is great in my opinion.
Gladiatorial Combat is a given, but in addition to the arena these rules have potential for things like Bar Room Brawls, Street Duels and dozens of other Scenarios.
It is one thing for a Low Level Character to get a beat down by a Villain or Rival early in their career, and then train and work to someday be able to defeat said Villain or Rival....but with the Performance Combat Rules such a scene can now add insult to injury by making the whole beat down a cheering bit of entertainment for onlookers.
Imagine an adventurering party getting in a fight with rivals at a tavern, and the local Guard eventually showing up to settle things down. Performance Combat Rules may help various witnesses of the whole thing tell the Law one story or another depending on which side of the conflict wooed the crowd over.
Performance Combat Rules are great because they allow for Heros to be cheered on in victory, and laughed at in defeat.

I think you might want to edit this a bit. A growing exponential sequence does things like this
1, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 ... (this particular sequence is of course 2^n).Even assuming you meant linearly, you might want to cap the bonus. Or both sides in any given gladitorial fight had better have it. Consider Treerazer in a wrestling match against Mick the Koblold (F2, St 7, Dx 10 has improved Grapple, Greater Grapple and Peoples Champion). Treerazer's CMB is +43, and his CMD is 67. Mick has CMB of -1, and CMD of 9. In the coliseum at Rome - 55000 spectators. Mick gets at +550 bonus. To bad Treerazer... Mick is going to tie you into a knot - with 1 hand tied behind his back...
