I'm quite new to Pathfinder in a general sense, but I've been known to pick up an installment or two of the Adventure Paths now and again. After a little bit of investigation, I decided to actually go ahead and subscribe to Jade Regent, so I'm trying to bone up on some of the pertinent details before I call the game together.
I've lurked in the forums for this AP a bit and it has become clear that most (if not all) of the key NPCs listed in the AP Player's Guide have been previously introduced elsewhere. My question is what texts should I read/have at my disposal in order to better familiarize myself with them and whatever the most important elements of this particular AP will be?

Only two of the NPCs from Jade Regent have appeared in print before. Others have ties to established NPCs, but have never before been mentioned.
We've built Jade Regent specifically so that those two NPCs (Ameiko and Shalelu) have all the information you need to run them; you don't need anything beyond the Jade Regent APs and the Player's Guide to run the adventure. That said, if you're curious about these two's history in previous APs...
Ameiko: She played a role in "Burnt Offerings," Pathfinder #1.
Shalelu: She played a role in "Burnt Offerings" (#1), "Hook Mountain Massacre" (#3), and "The Armageddon Echo" (#15).
