An iron band, this simple ring generates a shield-sized (and shield-shaped) wall of force that stays with the ring and can be wielded by the wearer as if it were a heavy shield (+2 AC).
Can you wield a heavy shield and a 2 handed weapon?
Can you wield a "weightless and encumbrance free" heavy shield and a 2 handed weapon?
No.

I can. And i don’t have above average strength or agility (compared to FANTASY RPG characters.

Basically the description (like so, so many others) isn’t good enough for a published book. Ask you GM. Personally - and this is after doing 10 years of battle re-enactment as a hobby and using metal swords to fight with - using two weapons, if i have the blocking capability with my off-hand the same as a shield but with no weight or encumberance... I’d be deadly. To me, yes it goes +2AC bonus regardless of what else you’re doing with your off hand and has no need to p!ss around asking players to claim turning it on and off in their go. Get a lift and speed up your combat.

In fact, if I had a weightless shield i’d Be able to defend myself better than someone with the same sized shield that weighed 15lbs. Use your common sense in place of badly worded descriptions.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

So, two things, do you intend your posts to come across as being just this side of insults/attacks? I'm not certain so I ask.

Secondly, do you realize that this discussion died almost seven years ago?
