Identifying a square someone is in while inside an Obscuring Mist?

Its an apposed Stealth-vs-Perception check, correct?

Situation that caused this question: Ally inside an Obscuring Mist drinks a potion. Enemy makes a Perception check vs. Stealth check and beats the ally's stealth check. The enemy then attacks the square and has a 50% chance to miss.

If the ally is more than 5' away, I would treat them as invisible. Thus, a +20 to stealth/+40 if immobile.

Ok, I have Total Concealment, but that doesn't necessarily make me invisible as per the +20/+40 bonuses that Invisibility, level 2 spell, gets?

If the enemy's stealth check is defeated his square is located, but he(Attacker) still suffers the 50% miss chance.
Don't forget that cover/concealment alone is not enough for a stealth check to be made. You must also be unobserved. In order to accomplish this you may be forced to make a bluff check to distract the "watcher" before you make the stealth check.
