Recently, I ran an adventure with a cursed item. The PCs cast dispel magic to make the item inert so as the NPC could drop the cursed item.
Reading through the description of both Remove Curse and Dispel Magic lead me to glance over at Greater Dispel Magic, which specifically says it can be used as Remove Curse; ergo, Dispel Magic cannot. Therefore, the Dispel Magic should NOT have affected the cursed item, even if able to beat the caster level check DC.
Is this right?
