Spiked gauntlet requires a free hand?

Rules Questions

Spiked gauntlets are considered a light weapon. Does that mean your hand needs to be free, or can you hold a weapon in the gloved hand? Can you cast a spell with a gloved hand?

Liberty's Edge

To my knowledge it is effectively both a free hand and an armed hand, in much the same way that your bare fist is if you have IUS. You can hold stuff, cast spells with it, etc, just not at the same time as using it as a weapon.

If you hold a weapon in the hand with a Spiked Glove, you're effectively no longer wielding your spiked glove, you're now wielding the weapon in that hand.

If you had Improved Unarmed Strike and held a weapon in your hand, you could not attack with your fist while you held a weapon in your hand, this does not change with a gauntlet, spiked or not.

You can cast a spell with a gloved hand.

Thanks! That's what I thought, but the RAW made me doubt by putting the spiked gauntlets under Light Weapon.
