Forget this epic level stuff. If you go over level 20 you should start using rules for demigods/immortals.

That's definitely a valid way to do it.

immortals???

well okay lets uses this setting's rules for immortals?

after all in the end there can be only one

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I think that Immortality should be considered, but in conjunction with, not in place of, Mythic rules.

After level 20,all PCs get a 'Demigod' template. After level 30,they can get a 'god' template if they pass that test or whatever(if they're in golarion).

DEMIGOD
You immediately get a +6 bonus to one ability score,+4 bonuses to two other ability scores, and +2 bonuses to the rest.
Once per day,you can reroll a save with a +10 bonus OR regain a spell of a level equal to d10-1(????)

Don't get me into gods, they'd have to choose a domain, get special unique abilities....so on and so on.

What do you think so far?

What he said. If things are going to trend in that direction of power, I'd like to see Starstone adventures, or similar, with an eye towards a quantitative change in being that isn't simply more hit points and bigger damage numbers. The problem is, I can think of several ideas for how this would effectively function, and the first involves more complicating of the proverbial cornflakes than I would wish to inflict on most of my fellow Paizonians - particularly in the form of Alignment beginning to seriously matter on a scale that normally paladins have to deal with, along with a hint of portfolio addiction/obsession on the part of the character. A fair comparison would be to the sort of change a Worded Celestial undergoes in the nond20 RPG In Nomine; I'd comment on its original source, In Nomine Satanis/Magna Veritas, but my French is rusty and I've not had hands-on access to those books/box sets.

In that particular game, your choir of angel/band of demon is your effective race-analog, while the Archangel/Demon Prince(ss) you served roughly compared to your class, though the matchup is not so exact. To give a pair of example, I'll use a pair of my favorite examples - one a servitor angel of Flowers, and one as a demon of Lust. In In Nomine, Words are rewards for long-term dedicated service to a concept integral to the workings of the universe, which is why certain words and concepts are portrayed as the dominion of the most ancient and powerful of the Angel and Demons. For example, the Archangel of Flowers rather clearly comes across as your archetypical Granola Munching Birkenstock Wearing Hippie - however, in the way that Words are typically applied on the Angelic side, it is most commonly viewed through both the symbolic and literal definitions, and her ancient Word gives the Archangel of Flowers the additional aspect of peace, tranquility, and the like. In contrast, the Demon Prince of Lust (formerly the Archangel of Love, tragically enough) is all-but the condensed cosmic manifestation of all that is carnal desire, and seeks to see it spread throughout humanity, with the intent being that in seeking only the physical aspect of the act with no inclusion of the emotional or spiritual the latter two will be drowned in the pleasures of the flesh, vindicating his Fall from Grace after siding with Lucifer.

I hate to use the term 'crib' or 'borrow' when admitted wholesale co-opting of a similar idea for the 'seed' of Immortality struck me as being a great way to start off an immortal character - taken in a certain light one could note that liches are taking the Brand X low grade comparatively 'easy' mode, that disregards the wholeness of body and mind in exchange for simple continued existence, while one who ascends to full-fledged immortality does the additional work of keeping it all together, with the 'seed' of concept being the metaphysical phylactery that holds everything together.
