Barbarian tireless rage (to abuse or not to abuse that is the question?)

Rules Questions

So at level 17 in the life of a barbarian you gain tireless rage. This allows you to not become all tired and shitty after a rage. Rage can be jumped into and out of as a free action. This effectively allows a barbarian at the beginning of his turn jump out of and back into rage to regain access to all those fun rage powers that say only once per rage.
In the description of free action it says infinite number of free action within a reasonable limit. Thusly i am asking for your guys opinion should i as a GM allow this rage stance dancing nonsense or use the definition of free action to stop it before it starts. Also discuss the pros and cons of this jumping into and out of rage and the overall effect it would have on a campaign and character at this stage in the game.

it start after the post about level 17 bringing the true capstone power for barbarians.

It is 17th level. The barbarian does have some big handicaps, like not a lot of ranged attacks. No real magic other than items giving ect… A CR 11, like an air elemental can still give a Barbarian a bad day even at 17th level. So I would let them have the free actions especially that close to Epic Level.

Is it RAW legal? - probably.

Does it come with an extra large side serving of fromage? - most definitely.

Will it unbalance your game? - magic 8 ball says 'unlikely'

It is legit and it is definitely not cheese. Stupid people are willing to call anything cheese.

Also, it is unlikely that a dm can be fair and specifically limit you to very few free actions considering by lvl 17, an archer could be using as many as 5 or 6 free actions drawing arrows every turn. Is the dm going to make a special rule saying that the archer gets 6 free actions a turn but you only get 1? I would slap that dm.

This was discussed much earlier.

Sigh - I guess I'm stupid then.

I don't have issue with the free actions. I have issue with the thematic implications of a raging barbarian dropping out of rage every 6 seconds then starting back up.

Level 17. I mean, 9th level spell are in game at that level.

Come on.

Really? Fluff is the most easily changed thing there is.

let me give it a try. Since rage removes your ability to concentrate, perhaps rage powers can only be used once in a rage because you lose your focus. Popping in and out of a rage allows you to harness the increased power of a rage while regaining your clarity and focus. Bam! Now it sounds like an intended path for a barbarian who begins without the ability to think rationally while raging and later achieves control over his rage.

Bare game mechanisms can be skinned any way you wish. People on these boards throw around the whole cheese thing all the time as more of a instinctual response than a rational one.

I'm just going to say that I disagree with you and leave it at that.
