Does using this power provoke an attack of opportunity?
Knockback (Ex): Once per round, the barbarian can make a bull rush attempt against one target in place of a melee attack. If successful, the target takes damage equal to the barbarian's Strength modifier and is moved back as normal. The barbarian does not need to move with the target if successful. This does not provoke an attack of opportunity.
Does the "This" in the last sentence speak to initiating the maneuver or the movement of the target?
Thanks.

I take it to mean the Knockback ability does not provoke.
If someone had Greater Bullrush feat, and used the Knockback ability, then the creature being knocked back would provoke.
It's still a bull rush, it's just made in place of an attack and deals damage.
-edit- If the provoke was referring to the person knocked back, I think that sentence would be moved up after the part of the target being moved back as normal. That it says "as normal" to me means it's just like a normal bullrush. It doesn't provoke unless you have GBR.
