I thought there was a pair of items that allowed two PC's to communicate with each other from a distance. Using the srd I cant seem to locate them. I thought they were APG.
Does anyone else remember a set of these?
Basically the party scout would go on ahead and then mentally comunicate back to the person with the othe pair of the item.
home brew a Message spell item with a greater range. Basically they're magic walkie talkies. Plus a lot cheaper than a mental only effect.

I believe you can also Permanency the Telepathic Bond spell. Handy for fast and stealthy communication in a party even right in front of people.

A pair of Sending Stones, from the Magic Item Compendium, allow the two who bear them to send a 25 word message once per day each as per the sending spell. They cost approximately 1,500 gp for the pair IIRC.

Just remember that each permanency bonds only 2 people together, which means this can get expensive for whole party communications. If you just wanna link the scout up to the wizard it works pretty well, though. Costs 12,500 gp per casting, so if you wanna do whole party linkage, in a group of 4 people you are looking at 6 castings. In a group of 6, it takes 15!
