You function as a druid -4 once you gain wildshape at 6th. It functions as your current level if a lizard form is taken. What are all the shapes that fit the "Lizard" category?
Wow seriously? -4? and only at your level for lizards? every other shaman is -2 and +2 for their animal, what happened here?
(sorry I didnt answer your question, this just surprised me, I don't know what all qualifies as a lizard.)

I just started playing one, and had a lot of trouble finding an answer on this too (Just one of the many vague entries in Ultimate Magic). So went with more a dictionary definition and have access to lizards, dinosaurs, and crocodiles.

I found a list. It is huge.
5 lizards....
Tiny, Small, Medium, Medium, Large
out of pity, the druid should get every special ability right off of any lizard
And not all 5 are Paizo lizards...
This is the definition I worked off of from Meriam-Wbester:
liz·ard
noun \ˈli-zərd\: any of a suborder (Lacertilia) of reptiles distinguished from the snakes by a fused inseparable lower jaw, a single temporal opening, two pairs of well differentiated functional limbs which may be lacking in burrowing forms, external ears, and eyes with movable lids; broadly : any relatively long-bodied reptile (as a crocodile or dinosaur) with legs and tapering tail

Including dinosaurs kinda makes the saurian shaman pointless don't you think?
But the Saurian already completely invalidates the Dragon Shaman. Seriously, other than having a different animal companions, or (maybe) a different domain, the Saurian is just Dragon Shaman+.
Wild Empathy? Dragon Shaman gets lizards. Saurian gets lizards, all other reptiles, and dinosaurs.
Speak with Animals? Dragon Shaman gets lizards. Saurian gets lizards, all other reptiles, and dinosaurs.
Totem Summons? Dragon Shaman gets lizards. Saurian gets lizards, all other reptiles, and dinosaurs.
Wild Shape? Dragon Shaman gets lizards. Saurian gets better lizards, all other reptiles, and dinosaurs. And the Saurian wild shapes into other things better, too.
Do you see a pattern here?

I never said the dragon shaman was any good, you take it for the name, that's all. xP

yeah, saurian shaman is better, i think they fudged up the -4, it should probably be -2/+2
the only thing that makes dragon shaman any different from all of the other types is their bite energy attack at 8th.
if they're going to do something like that... let them wild shape into actual dragons at higher levels... thats what you want when you take dragon shaman...
if you don't mind losing the elemental bite attack, its a better way to go ( so at 6th level, you use beast shape III for dinos/lizards, and beast shape I for everything else ) , otherwise for dragons you're stuck at beast shape II for lizards... and nothing for anything else? because the lowest it goes is Beast Shape I as a 4th level druid, and at 6th level you count as less than that.
i just tried to put together a summon monster list from the SNA list in the core book, its kind of weak. the only way it works is if you include dinosaurs. which completely overlaps with saurian shaman.
SNA I - nothing
SNA II - young crocodile (what, its a lizard), young monitor lizard
SNA III - crocodile, monitor lizard, granted, this is the level they're at when they get the dragon shaman summon ability.
SNA IV - giant crocodile, advanced croc, giant monitor lizard, advanced monitor lizard, deinonychus, pteranodon ( yeah i put dinosaurs on there too, they're a good terrible lizard. enough for rpgs anyway )
SNA V - anklyosaurus, giant + advanced crocodile, giant + advanced monitor lizard, young triceratops.
Is there errata on this ?

Main thing I want to know:
How does Wild shape of 2nd level work? ( effective druid level 2nd for a 6th level dragon shaman, when not taking a lizard form ).
does that not work at all? or do they just get beast shape I (minimum) for 2 hours? vs. if they take a lizard they get beast shape II for 6 hours.
2nd thing - why can't they shift into dragons !!!
THAT would distinguish them from saurian shamans, and make up for not having reptiles on their class list.
