they follow same rules as mounts, and mounts get a swift move and std action, so no reason they can't cast spell and won't be penalised for mounted casting as they've got their feet on the ground.
as far as their druid is concerned the creature mounting him is just a burden on his encumbrance.
the only problem could arise would be from a group who never gets past making "mounted" jokes every single combat

The question is, would they be a mount? Heh, you'd have to make a pretty good case to ride my druid.
don't forget to give him a lance and kit him out with vital strike feats make the most out of that single standard action
prob worth looking at stuff like spring attack and the like to keep you mobile and able to charge alot

Not sure how the druid could use a lance (he's a horse), but the fighter yes should use a lance. Spring attack for the druid works well though.

yeah was talking about stuff for the fighter cohort ;)
acutally ride by attack for druid and a reach weapon +lunge for the fighter cohort would be pretty sweet combo

The one big advantage I can see to a druid acting the role as a mount is when the Rider is a barbarian with all the mounted Raging goodness.
Druid could gain from this partnership:
Rage
All constantly active rage powers
Trample
DR = 1/2 barb lvl
That a big bag of goodies to add to the already awesomeness of wild shaping into a tiger. Anyone else know of a way to have both pounce, rake, and trample?
