Construct question

Rules Questions

While reading The Haunting of Harrowstone I came across a magical construct that gave me pause. I dont want to give away any spoilers, but this particular construct's weakness was haunted, so it takes damage from positive energy. My question is, does positive energy bypass the hardness?

Shadow Lodge

Which one is it, and I'll see what I can find out.

The Scyth?

The Scyth?

yep

Shadow Lodge

Ok, the Scyth

Spoiler:
Yes, Positive Energy does bypass the Hardness. It is an animated object, but it is treated as an Undead creature (SQ Construct Points (haunted, metal), which overrides the normal construct rules. These can be found on page 81 under Construct Points and Flaws.

On the very bottom of page 173 in the core book, it talk about some energy attacks being particularly effective against certain objects.

Ah ok thanks, otherwise the hardness of 10 seems a little fierce for 1st level charcters.

Shadow Lodge

Honestly, I am not sure why the Hardness is there at all. As a Haunt, it can only be harmed by special weaknesses (none besides ->) or Positive Energy. But you are welcome.
